Circuit Ricardo Tormo is receiving these days the solidarity of the motosport world. The Assen Circuit, home of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands, has announced a donation to help the Valencian racetrack.
The TT Assen Circuit, which is getting ready to celebrate its centenary in 2025, has decided, after a conversation between the directors of the Dutch and Valencian circuits, to make a donation of 50,000 euros to renew the Circuit Ricardo Tormo machinery affected by the floods.
Part of the machinery of Circuit Ricardo Tormo has become unusable after the floods. An excavator and a crane were buried in water and mud under the tunnel that crosses the track at the starting grid.
The new vehicles will get a special TT Assen reference, to show the solidarity between the two regions
The General Manager of Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Nicolás Collado, expressed his “great gratitude. The motorsport community has been very affected. During the Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona we could see how the MotoGP paddock and the Circuit de Catalunya itself were involved and there we received this offer of help from Assen Circuit, which is going to be very useful”
Arjan Bos, chairman of the board of the TT Circuit Assen explained that “we are deeply affected by what has happened in the Valencia region. We want to show that the MotoGP community stands in solidarity with each other in times of adversity. We wish everyone, not just the people of the circuit in Valencia, all the best in these tough times”.
The sporting activity will return to the Valencia Circuit on 5 December with the first private tests. For this purpose, an alternative access route to the usual one has been set up, which will have to be repaired before the start of the next season.
